The edition I have in my hand a borrowed copy of the study edition, which has quite a lot of short notes, although taking up at most a quarter of each page, and over 200 pages of study material at the end including a few translated Old Testament passages. But the history of the English Bible is of great importance to us today, since it reminds us that our civilization is built upon translations. Author: Jason David BeDuhn is the Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Today I am reviewing the book and its text. His 2003 book is entitled Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament. The above three translations were done by translators coming from 40 or more different denominations to make sure that sectarian bias does not enter the text.
